Uniform
Scouts have proudly worn their uniforms for over 100 years, showing off their badges and group. The Scout uniform consists of a jumper (for Cubs and Beavers) or shirt (for Scouts, Explorers and Leaders) and a neckerchief and woggle, a scarf worn around the neck which is a different colour for each group as well as a pair of branded activity trousers. The 8th Portsmouth wear a purple neckerchief, and has done since it was formed in 1909.
A uniform does not need to be purchased immediately, and a neckerchief is always supplied by the group. Activity, membership and participation badges are always supplied by the group for free, members can also buy special badges (such as logos and commemorative badges) from Scout Shops and some campsites.
